While a lot of our reputation in Houston is built on that high-intensity, heart-pounding sweat, we have specific blocks in our schedule that are designed to strip away the fluff and focus purely on building raw, functional power. We call these our Strength sessions, and they are the foundation for everything else we do on the Katy Freeway.
In these specific classes, the pacing changes completely. You won’t find yourself gasping for air on a rower or trying to beat a clock with endless burpees. Instead, we slow everything down so you can focus on the quality of every single rep. My opinion is that most people in group fitness are moving too fast and using momentum rather than muscle. In our strength-focused hours, we force you to control the weight. We lean heavily into the big, foundational movements that actually change your body composition—things like heavy deadlifts, weighted lunges, and overhead presses that require total body stability.
One of the things I love most about these sessions is the atmosphere. It is a bit more calculated and quiet compared to the high-energy cardio blocks. You will see people taking longer rest periods between sets because when you are truly lifting at your limit, your central nervous system needs that minute to reset. Our coaches, like Mike and Brandon, are all over the floor during these times, checking your foot placement and making sure your spine is neutral. They aren’t just there to cheer you on; they are there to make sure you are lifting with the kind of precision that leads to real gains without the injuries.
I often tell people that even if they love the “sweat” part of our name, they absolutely must include these pure strength days in their weekly routine. If you only ever do cardio, you are just getting smaller and more tired. But when you dedicate time to these heavy lifting blocks, you are building the armor your body needs to stay resilient. You will notice that once your squat numbers go up on these strength days, your performance on the Echo Bikes during the regular circuits becomes much more explosive. It is all connected.
So, if your goal is to walk out of the studio feeling dense, strong, and capable, look for those specific strength hours on the app. It is a different kind of challenge that rewards patience and technique over just moving fast. You will leave feeling like you’ve actually accomplished something permanent, and that is a feeling that stays with you long after the workout is over.

The Sweat Standard: The perfect workout in one hour.
This class combines cardiovascular training with strength training using a variety of equipment such as barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, battle ropes, and resistance bands. You will spend 50% of the class working with weights and the other 50% on a cardio machine. The definitive workout for real results!
Sweat Express:
A 45 minute class. The format is very similar to the Standard class but with shorter sets.
Great for those who want to burn calories but are short on time!
Sweat Just Lift:
A 60 minute class for those looking to focus exclusively on strength training.
The programming for this class is aligned with the Standard class to ensure you do not miss any of the primary lifts. For example, on Mondays the focus is on quads and abs. This is a great option for those who have other cardiovascular training options during the week.
The new space has an intense focus on recovery, performance, and community, offering ice baths and saunas, which is something unique for the Houston area.
Recovery and Performance: Consultations available every Friday at the studio for treatments focused on muscle and joint recovery.
HYROX Community: Workouts and celebrations geared toward athletes participating in HYROX.
