Walking into the studio and seeing people who move with absolute precision can definitely rattle your nerves. It is easy to think they are all looking at you or judging how much weight you are putting on the bar but I promise you that could not be further from the truth. Everyone in that room is fighting their own internal battle. When you see someone crushing a workout they are not thinking about you because they are focusing on keeping their own heart rate up or finishing that last set before the timer goes off.
If you feel like you are falling behind just look down because your lane is the only one that actually matters. I have been in gyms across Houston for years and the people who look the most experienced are often the ones who are most willing to help a newcomer. If you are struggling with a movement do not feel like you have to fake it. Ask the coach. That is exactly what they are there for. They would much rather see you do a movement correctly with lighter weight than watch you risk an injury trying to keep up with someone who has been training there for three years.
Stop comparing your day one to their year five. It is just math and it does not make sense. Every single person you see hitting those high intensity intervals started the exact same way you did. They had to learn how to pace themselves and they had to learn how to deal with the soreness. Use that energy as fuel instead of letting it shut you down. Watch how they move and learn their rhythm and realize that you are in the
perfect place to build that same level of confidence. You are not there to be them because you are there to become a better version of yourself. Just keep showing up and eventually you will be the one setting the pace for the person who just walked through the door.
The studio is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all its members.
Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or are a seasoned athlete, the team is here to help you reach your goals.
The Sweat Standard: The perfect workout in one hour.
This class combines cardiovascular training with strength training using a variety of equipment such as barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, battle ropes, and resistance bands. You will spend 50% of the class working with weights and the other 50% on a cardio machine. The definitive workout for real results!
Sweat Express:
A 45 minute class. The format is very similar to the Standard class but with shorter sets.
Great for those who want to burn calories but are short on time!
Sweat Just Lift:
A 60 minute class for those looking to focus exclusively on strength training.
The programming for this class is aligned with the Standard class to ensure you do not miss any of the primary lifts. For example, on Mondays the focus is on quads and abs. This is a great option for those who have other cardiovascular training options during the week.
The new space has an intense focus on recovery, performance, and community, offering ice baths and saunas, which is something unique for the Houston area.
Recovery and Performance: Consultations available every Friday at the studio for treatments focused on muscle and joint recovery.
HYROX Community: Workouts and celebrations geared toward athletes participating in HYROX.
